ABOUT STORM MELT®
When used as directed, STORM MELT® is designed to be less harmful to concrete compared to other ice melt brands. STORM MELT® is also designed not to leave an oily residue, which can be tracked onto carpets and floors. It is water soluble, odorless, and in liquid form has the consistency of water.
ABOUT CONCRETE
The severity of weather, the age, quality and curing of the concrete can increase the potential for surface damage. STORM MELT® is less harmful to good quality, air-entrained concrete for cold weather climates. Consult a concrete professional if unsure as to the quality of your surface.
Over-application may cause staining or damage.
HOW AND WHEN TO APPLY
Depending on the amount of ice and snow present, sprinkle the ice melt on ice and snow at the rate of 1 lb. to 4.5 lbs. (0.45 kg to 2.0 kg) per 540 ft² (50.17 m²). Apply evenly and avoid piling. For best results, shovel off resulting slush and water. Reapply when needed.
SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN: Apply early to prevent ice buildup.
WET/HEAVY SNOW: Apply early to prevent bonding.
LARGE ACCUMULATION: Clear excess snow, spread on stubborn ice or packed snow.
Use gloves and goggles when applying product. Keep bag tightly closed - contents are hygroscopic.
